Neuzina (Hungaria – Nezsény) is a settlement in Serbia in the municipality of Secanj in the Central Banat Administrative District. According to the 2011 census, there were 1256 inhabitants.

Neuzina has changed its name several times in its history:

  • 1116 — Neuzina
  • 1801 — Srpska Neuzina (Nezzeni)
  • 1801 — Croatia Neuzina
  • 1912 -(Hungary Nagynezsény)
  • 1922 – Serbian Neuzina

Historically, there were two Neuzina a, which later merged: Srpska Neuzina (Srpska Neuzina) and Hrvatska Neuzina (Croatian Neuzina). The local Croats moved here from Pokuplje (Croatia) after the administrative reorganization that followed the liberation of large areas obtained by the Karlovac Peace in 1699 between the Hapsburg Empire and the Turkish Empire. They came to this area because the new authorities in their original country did not recognize the previous privileges.

The Croats came to this area because they belonged to the Zagreb Diocese, to which they belonged. The Zagreb Diocese received this area (around the bishopric of Bileda) as a compensation for the new authorities in Pokljuka. They did not recognize the noble rights of the previous inhabitants of that predicament, whose previous owner was the Zagreb bishop.
